Leithner & Company (www.leithner.com.au) is an unlisted public company, established in 1999 and based in Brisbane, which specialises in the purchase and long-term ownership of securities. It invests conservatively, has never failed to pay a twice-yearly dividend and has generated strong long-term returns. Its investors (primarily high net worth and “wholesale”) are partners with whom its directors share risks and rewards; consequently, it charges no management fees and (with one minor exception) its directors receive no fees or salaries. Ian Stewart, AO, a retired Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service, chairs its board.
