This month's guest speaker:
Cameron Window
Executive Manager - Fixed Income
Mint Partners Australia
Cameron Window is a fixed income professional with expertise in building and overseeing diversified portfolios for private clients, corporates, and not-for-profit organisations.
Upon completion of his double degree from QUT, Cameron had a stint in London, before spending 10 years at Flight Centre Ltd’s corporate headquarters here in Brisbane, in a variety of financial management roles.
In 2012, he chose to specialise in debt markets and spent 4 years at FIIG Securities.
In 2016, he chose to be part of an experienced team in building a new fixed income business in Australia, under the umbrella of the NASDAQ-listed BGC Partners.
Cameron's topic:
Our most recent GDP data was well below expectation. Falls in equities, housing markets and oil prices will likely see us in a low rate, low growth environment for at least the medium term. An inversion in the US yield curve also casts doubts over the sustainability of growth in that economy.
Markets love to be optimistic but the reality is that the numbers just don’t support that view. Diversity is key to surviving such markets, and whilst bonds may provide some buffer, we too see certain assets rally whilst others sell off.
We’ll discuss how differing conditions can affect the value and liquidity in bond markets, and how you can assert your view on your fixed income investing.
It is necessary to register for the meeting by 10:00 am on the Friday before the meeting.
